Multi-Agency Operation Results in Arrest of Attempted Murder Suspect
On May 9, 2025 a coordinated effort between Denver Police and Arvada officers led to the arrest of an individual wanted for four counts of attempted murder in Denver. The suspect and two associates were tracked leaving a residence in Arvada and apprehended after a vehicle stop in Denver. A subsequent SWAT search recovered ammunition, and a firearm was located through follow-up. Area schools were briefly secured out of caution. No injuries occurred during the operation. (AR25007712)
Gunfire at Short Term Rental Party
Late on May 9, 2025 officers responded to a report of shots fired near a short-term rental home on Highland Place. A birthday party had turned violent when uninvited guests were asked to leave and returned fire while departing the area. No injuries were reported, but several homes and vehicles were struck. Many shell casings were recovered. One vehicle fled the area and eluded officers. The property’s short term rental license has been suspended and the investigation is on-going. (AR25007736)
