Significant Incidents

Smoke Shop Damaged in Overnight Vehicle Break-In


In the early hours of May 19, 2025, a stolen vehicle was driven into the front of a local smoke shop, causing significant property damage. The suspects fled before officers arrived. Evidence was collected at the scene and the case is under investigation. (AR25008368)


High Speed DUI Crash Injures Multiple Passengers


On May 20, 2025, an officer attempted to stop a speeding vehicle on Wadsworth Blvd. The suspect eluded the officer and crashed into a light pole at a nearby gas station a short time later. Three passengers sustained injuries. The driver admitted to using alcohol and THC and was arrested for DUI and other charges. (AR25008440)


Convenience Store Robbery Suspect Flees on Foot


On May 21, 2025, a store employee at a business near 6700 Wadsworth Blvd reported being robbed by an individual who implied he had a weapon. The suspect fled the scene with a cash drawer. A perimeter and K9 track were conducted, but the suspect was not located. This incident remains under investigation. (AR25008556)


Teen Injured in Vehicular Assault After High Speed Confrontation


On May 22, 2025, a teenager sustained serious injuries after being run over during a high-speed altercation involving multiple vehicles near Robby Ferrufino Park. Witnesses reported the victim jumped on the hood of a car during the confrontation and was thrown and run over when the vehicle stopped suddenly. The driver fled but was later arrested for vehicular assault. (AR25008595)


Officer Struck by Fleeing Vehicle at Highway Off-Ramp


On May 24, 2025, an officer's vehicle was sideswiped by a speeding driver at the eastbound I-70 and Wadsworth off-ramp. The suspect failed to stop and ran the red light as he fled. The suspect eventually stopped and was cited for multiple traffic violations. No injuries were reported. (AR25008770)
