Motor Vehicle Theft Suspect Arrested After Search
On March 5, 2025, officers responded to a motor vehicle theft suspect seen near the 8500 block of Ames Street. With support from K-9 units and specialized teams, officers set a perimeter to contain the area. The suspect fled to a backyard shed and ignored commands to surrender. A flash-sound device was used to gain compliance, and a female exited the shed and officers believed the suspect remained inside. After a drone search of the shed confirmed he wasn’t there, officers received consent to search the home. The suspect was found inside and taken into custody without incident, facing charges of Motor Vehicle Theft and Obstruction. (AR25003788)

Surveillance footage revealed a white sedan and a white SUV circling the lot before the SUV reversed into the storefront. Two suspects checked the damaged entryway but fled without gaining access. Similar incidents occurred in Wheat Ridge soon after, involving the same vehicles. The case remains under investigation. (AR25003880)
